Research and studies have shown that the DASH (DIETARY APPROACH TO STOP HYPERTENSION) diet have assisted in improving overall patient health for more than 8 years now.
According to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, the diet is rich in fruits and vegetables, low fat or no fat dairy. It also includes mostly whole grains; lean meats, fish and poultry.
The above points are tremendously important because by following a diet such as this, one tends to start altering your lifestyle and seeing healthy habits forming. This, in turn, will allow belly-fat loss and replace fat with muscle (if exercise is also incorporated). In so doing, cholesterol levels will be improved (clinically proven) and your once tired, overburdened body will improve in a physical as well as in a biochemical way.
I cannot stress enough the importance of healthy eating and living. It is a lifestyle choice. Not a few days of healthy eating per month. And what is so great about the DASH diet is that it is a wonderful choice for all family members, young and old.
