The dreaded headache can be overlooked by many of us. It is subtle at times, allowing us to continue with our busy lives and then there are those that sneak up on us leaving us bed bound and cloaked in a blanket for the fear of light. If you have experienced a migraine or tension headache, you know exactly what this is all about. Headaches are also a symptom of other illnesses.
Typical associated symptoms with headache would be:
sniffy/ stuffy noses: could be rhinosinusitis
joint ache and muscle pain: possible viral infection
one sided headache concentrated around the eyes or one part of the head lasting more than 4 hours: migraine
toothache: possible tooth abscess
light/sunlight appears piercing: migraine or even a sign of meningitis
Lastly headache is also a subtle indicator of blood pressure problems. Some complain of headache with low blood pressure or even anaemia. Others complain of headache and it turns out that they have high blood pressure.
Always pay attention to your body’s signs. You will thank yourself later.
